I dont' believe it's a bug at all though it's strange. The maxmem parameter was set around 4096Kbytes. I wouldn't think that this parameter would exhibit the effect but all of my ram issues centered around this param. I mean of course gcc needed more memory than that! So thanks for any insight. Was a confusing problem for me. Once I commented this parameter out, everything sees 256 megs. Mark http://atari-source.com
