More questions from me:

Does the AES use the VDI functions (vsm_locator and vsm_string and such)
for tracking the mouse and keyboard, or do both the VDI and AES use
GEMDOS, BIOS, or some other method? If the AES doesn't use the mouse
and other facilities of the VDI, then it would seem these functions are
nearly useless.

Second, when graphics cards are added to an Atari, is a .SYS driver
given, or is a whole replacement VDI used? Is there documentation on
the format of the .SYS VDI drivers? Where can I find out this
information?
