Dial but no connect. Do not know if it will work a second time, but changing the peers file used by pppd to specify both name and host for "user" produced satisfactory results. Up until now, doing that only in the pap-secrets file was enough. That leaves another minor mystery to wonder about, why a computer did something different than usual, but I have MiNT (1.15.12) dialing and connecting again. Actually, did this reloading EasyMiNT routing several times, and got a third minor mystery. Could ping or traceroute by name, but not telnet or ftp. There was a bus error at the end of loading the rpm rpm, and that might have done it. First bus error in a very long time. -- /"\ Jim DeClercq--jimd@panix.com--Sylvania, Ohio, USA \ / ASCII ribbon campaign | I'm a .signature virus! | X against HTML mail | Copy me into your ~/.signature| / \ and postings | to help me spread! | .
