Hallo Nicholas!

NS>I have just started using gcc and I can't get it to compile even
NS>a "Hello world" program; it gives a memory error when linking. My
NS>setup is: TT with 8MB ram (4 ST/ 4 TT)

As others have stated before, GCC and companions is very memory hungry. But
then, you've got a TT. So why not installing outside, providing as much
(virtual) RAM as your harddisk can provide?

This won't be very fast, but at least should make your "hello world"
compileable :-)

With best regards
Ekkehard
