That can be helpful if anything. To further clarify this: This is not a MiNT specific feature! It works for any console output! Control-S will "Stop" console output Contrl-Q will "Qontinue" console output So you can use these two keys even before MiNT has started under normal TOS and thus see the output of programs that are run before MiNT!
