Yes, qed use ALT + 1...6 as Shell shortcuts. This is the problem of using ALT-keymaps! Same problem if you want to map the Euro-sign to Alt+E, some applications already use this shortcut. And XaAES itself will generate shortcuts in dialogs automatically, which will "eat up" most Alt+ combinations. Better to use AltGr - if you can it to work! Jo Even
